A new feature being introduced into the AIB National Livestock Show this year

The programme of the Tullamore Show & AIB National Livestock Show continues to grow and develop each year. 2011 will be no exception. We will have a number of new elements and events, our main new development will be ‘The Meat Village’.

The programme is to include an educational and better practice theme, which will further enhance an already ‘super show’. This unique development will be a broad spectrum educational project with the collective branding of ‘The Meat Village’. It will be of interest to the producer, processor and consumer alike.

The area will include a tented workshop area where processors will engage with producers, consumers, et al.

A feature well worth a visit!

 

Bord BiA Cookery Demonstrations

Once again one of the key attractions at this year’s show will be the Bord Bia cookery demonstrations with Celebrity Chef Neven Maguire and Bord Bia’s Food Advisor Sheila Kelly which will take place at 12.00pm and 2.30pm.

Neven and Sheila will join together to present tasty dishes that all the family will enjoy – fun to make and great to eat. Neven will show you how to prepare a ‘Rack of Lamb with Tapenade Toasts and Wilted Spinach’ and ‘Grilled Rib-Eye Steak with Smoked Paprika and Red Pepper Butter’.

Sheila will prepare and demonstrate a variety of Bord Bia recipes including quality assured beef, pork and bacon dishes, all of which can provide quick and tasty meal solutions. These will be selected from Bord Bia’s most recent cookbook – Food for Family and Friends. All recipes will be available on the day.

Both Sheila and Neven will be cooking with products with the Bord Bia Quality Mark, which means they have been produced to the highest quality standards and can be traced back to the farm. As members of the Bord Bia Quality Programme, over 40,000 farmers and over 150 processors are passionate about achieving the highest standards of quality. They are audited regularly by Bord Bia to ensure that these standards are maintained from the farm right to the shop shelf.

So if you’re looking for some food for thought at the Tullamore Show, make your way to the Bord Bia cookery demonstrations and remember when shopping, always choose products with the Bord Bia Quality Mark because your food is our passion.
