The pressure on the judges this year will be immense, with both rings packed to their capacity, and top quality animals being shown.

The standard and quality of animals exhibiting in the AIB National Livestock Show is a sight to behold.

The Tullamore & AIB National Livestock Show is a showcase of the country’s top Commercial Cattle. The spectators, both national and international, will take a keen interest in the stock and their placings.

Best Limousin Cross Calf Male and Best Limousin Cross Calf Female carry a prize fund of €1,000 per class, sponsored by the Limousin Society.

The 26 young people, between the age of 12-16 year old, and 17-26 year old, who have entered in the AIB National Livestock Show Young Stockperson of the Year classes, will be facing the limelight and will have centre stage around midday in the Commercial Cattle Section, being viewed by some of the 62,000 visitors expected at the Show.

A total prize fund of €15,500 is up for grabs across the Commercial Cattle Section and First Prize winners in each class will each receive a specially commissioned Medallion and the prestigious first place Rosette.

All competitors seek to achieve a placing and rosette at the Show. This year, the Tullamore Show & AIB National Livestock Show has 15 new competitors in this section. Every competitor has the same chance of winning a Rosette, let it be their first visit or their 24th visit.

Last year, Mr. Simon O’Connor from Co. Kerry, on his first visit, won 2 first prizes, one in the Butcher’s Heifer Competition and the other in a Best Calf class.

Commercial Cattle Judging will commence at 10am in Rings 3 and 4 for the 13 Senior Cattle Classes, 12 Calf Classes and the 2 Young Stockperson Classes.

The Tullamore Show Executive Committee would like to thank all our generous Sponsors, the Commercial Cattle Exhibitor Society Ltd., the Midland and Western Livestock Society, Breed Societies, George Chandler M.C., Stewards and Judges.

We would like to thank our competitors for their support and wish them all the best on the day.
