Thank you for your continued support and for making this years show such a fantastic event!

Following another successful show on August 12th, the Tullamore Show Executive Committee would like to extend a BIG thank you to all for making their 21st year a successful and memorable event. Despite major competition and weather challenges upwards of 50,000 visitors attended this years’ event, a huge achievement by all standards.

Following a wet and miserable summer, one that some would rather forget, and in the face of an array of challenges as a result, it is a testament to the organisers that Irelands Premiers Show did not suffer the upheaval many events suffered this year.

While the Executive have worked into the wee hours on many occasions over the past 12 months, the show would not be the event it has become if it were not for the tireless group of volunteers involved in the show. On show day, there are over 450 volunteers from stewards, gate keepers and car parking attendants to tea ladies, site construction workers and waste management volunteers who help transform the Butterfield Estate into the a mini-town for one day every year on the second Sunday in August. The Volunteers come from every corner of Offaly and are of every age. The local GAA teams have been involved for many years and a grateful thank you to all involved.

Grateful thanks must also be extended to the trade stand exhibitors and in particular the Sponsors who participate each year and greatly assist offering the array of displays to the public and make this event such a unique one. To the exhibitors and judges who have given the show its prestige over the years and who make the those difficult journeys from every province with animals and trailers in tow in the early hours of the morning, a tremendous thank you.

To the local residents, who not only roll up their sleeves to help out with the show, but endure some disruption to the area in the run-up to the show. Thank you.

Finally, to the public! Year after year, whatever the elements and whether you arrive in flip flops or wellington boots, thank you for your continued loyalty and support. The show would simply not exist without you and what a shame it would be to not have such an event to exhibit the best of all things Irish!
