Sponsors Night and Launch of Competition Programme
Sponsors night and the official launch of the 2019 competition schedule for the Tullamore Show & FBD National Livestock Show took place on Wednesday, 29th May at the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore. Competition entries are now open, both for hard copy and online, for the massive prize fund of €175,000, across all categories.
The evening got off to a great start with over 300 sponsors in attendance. Everyone enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere, great networking and photographic opportunities, which was followed by a sumptuous meal in the Bridge House, Charleville Suite.
Barry Kennedy, General Manager, Bridge House Hotel, opened the the night by welcoming everyone to the Bridge House Hotel and wishing the Tullamore Show all the best for the coming months in preparation for a great event that Tullamore is proud to have.
This was followed by Brenda Kiernan, Show Chairperson, giving a warm welcome to all gathered, stating that “this year again we are delighted to be partnering with FBD as our title sponsor and we look forward to another fruitful year with them. I would like to thank all our sponsors who come from all over the country and without their generosity, we would not be able to offer the staggering €175,000 prize fund. Of course it’s not just in monetary terms that the sponsors provide support but some also double as volunteers for the day, joining the hundreds of other stewards, without whom the day would not be possible”
John Cahalan, Chief Commercial Officer FBD, said he was looking forward to building a strong and lasting relationship with the event. “The Tullamore Show is a great reminder of the importance of agriculture in Ireland,” pointing out that it contributes €24 billion to the Irish economy each year, that agriculture is also the greatest multiplier. “For every euro invested €4 is returned back into the Irish economy,” he also said that the Tullamore Show is always “great fun” and praised the organisers for the “logistical masterpiece” that will take place on the day, describing Brenda Kiernan and Freda Kinnarney as “extraordinary people” he said the sponsors got value for money in an economic environment where getting a return on investment was very important”.
Anna Marie Delaney, Chief Executive of Offaly County Council was the guest speaker said “it was fantastic to have an event bringing 60,000 visitors on one day and the council will capitalise on the opportunity by mounting a tourism promotion there and that It contributes significantly to our tourism programme as well,” that It a national event, the premier national event of its kind in the country and Offaly County Council are delighted to continue to support the Tullamore Show in any way we can.”
In closing Freda Kinnarney, Show Operations Manager, said “We would like to thank all our sponsors and especially FBD, as without our sponsors the show would not be the great success it is. We look forward to seeing you all at the Butterfield Est, Tullamore on Sunday, 11th of August.
