It's full steam ahead with preparations for the Tullamore Show & AIB National Livestock Show. Show Committee members are now counting the hours rather than the days as the ordinarily quaint Butterfield Estate becomes one of the busiest sites in the Country!
The excitment is mounting and while many were enjoying the busiest bank holiday weekend of the year, with holidays, leisure trips and bbq's... the Tullamore Show site was busy into the early hours of Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Suppliers, volunteers and committee members oversaw the last of site plans (power supplies, water supplies etc), fence building and the erection of marquees in time for the initial plethora of trade exhibitors due to arrive Tuesday morning.
An onsite office is now in place and most 8pm resemble noon as organisers take advantage of all daylight hours to complete this tremendous project. Tuesday will see the first of the trade exhibitors to arrive for set up and by this coming Friday, the site will resemble a small town. This coming Sunday, 60,000 people plus are expected to land on the Irelands' Premier Show!
Gates open at 7:00am for exhibitors and 9:00am to the general public. Tickets are €15 for adults, €10 for students (with ID) and senior citizens and free to children under 14 accompanied by and adult. Shuttle buses will leave Tullamore every hour (from 9:00am in O'Connor Square and 9:30am from Tullamore Train Station. Last bus will leave the site at 6:30pm.
